Cows of Indian origin, also known as Desi Gaay have been recognized for their unique features found in no other cow breeds across the world. Our forefathers studied these features and have built a lifestyle that promotes health, wealth and prosperity for the individual and the world.
Sadly, since in the last 100 years, Desi Gaay (Cow breeds of Indian Origin) have been facing a crisis.
They have been treated as just animals giving milk and were disowned once they reached old age. Many of them are sent to slaughter houses. The export of Desi breeds for money is also on the rise.
To create a natural check on this,Our Gaushala is working hard for the welfare of such cows,
its treatment and better upkeep facilities throughout the year. It’s a model place for demonstration of all rural enterprise and energy efficient agriculture practices which could replicate with farmers of nearby villages.

Ours cause of Gau Seva Yatra started on Janmashtmi 2004 with the zealous inspiration and in the kind presence of just 21 cows.
Gau Seva Sangh (Gaushala) was formed as an organization and started its roots in Veppadai [situated on the Erode - Sangagiri Road], with Sri Kanodia family's generosity for providing the land and under the umbrella of Sri SundarkandBhakt Mandal, Erode.
Gradually Gaushala transformed its activities from just Gau-Seva (service to the Cow) to cow protection and rural development and much more than that.
Members were added meanwhile and the day arrived in 2008-09 when Gaushala got its own land where it is currently situated. It is located in the outskirts of Erode City, driving down south 15 kilometersapprox. on Erode -Karur Road. Vast land of about 11 acres adjacent to main road was chosen for the purpose and has all the serenity and elements required for the cows to reside merrily.
In the short span of just of 20 years, Erode Gaushala has grown manifold (with all ups and downs). It has housed in the hearts of people, near and far, to the great extent. It has now become a kind of Cow pilgrimage.
